Give Us Your Kids is run by our awesome Kaiwhakahaere, Erin Hapi, with support from a range of Kaitiaki Tamariki.

Everyone connected to Give Us Your Kids will complete comprehensive Police vetting processes and character checks to ensure we have the best humans possible to support our kaupapa and care for your tamariki.

Interests: Whakangau/hunting with kurī, oma roa/distance running, mahi toi

Something that connects me to te ao Māori: My hononga is my tamariki, I also feel connected through the values of te ao Māori

Favourite childhood activity: Building race tracks in the dirt for my toy cars

Jordan Heath

Wāhi mahi: Manager of Pūruatia Trust

Interests: Photography and design, te taiao, kai, friends and whānau

Something that connects me to te ao Māori: whānau/whakapapa, te taiao and working in kaupapa Māori spaces.

Favourite childhood activity: Jumping on the trampoline and acting out shows or movies.

Avalon - Kaitiaki Tamariki

Other mahi: Full time māmā, and studying te reo Māori (L3&4) at Te Wānanga o Aotearoa

Interests: Te taiao, being in and around the moana especially. I love anime, One Piece is my fave.

Something that connects me to te ao Māori: Going back to my marae, being in te taiao

Favourite childhood activity: I have 4 siblings and my favourite activity was playing with them outside

Interests: Kapa haka and performing on stage, netball, food adventures – especially Maccas runs, Netflix binges and going to concerts!

Kura: Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka 

Interests: Surfing, te Taiaio, Toi, Te Ao Māori, Hauora 

Something that connects me to te ao Māori: Spending time in te taiao/moana. Learning my whakapapa - connecting with my hapū, and learning te reo Māori. As well as living by tikanga.

Te Akaraupo

Kura: I study at te UC doing BA of te reo and Māori indigenous studies and I’m in my third year.

Interests: Music, te ao Māori and kapa haka

Something that connects me to te ao Māori: My values being manaakitanga aroha, tika and pono

Favourite childhood activity: Anything really I loved playing outside as a Tamaiti but if I would picked a game it would of been playing rugby league or bull rush
